School of Interdisciplinary Studies

At Open Christian University, we recognize that many Christians are called to minister in purely secular environments, where their work demands a deep understanding of various scientific subjects. Our School of Interdisciplinary Studies is committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate these diverse fields of study while remaining rooted in their faith.

Interdisciplinary study allows for the synthesis of ideas and the integration of characteristics from multiple disciplines. This approach not only addresses the individual differences of students but also helps develop transferable skills essential for serving in their missionary fields.

Our School of Interdisciplinary Studies offers courses in various secular areas of learning, addressing identified knowledge gaps and student leadership needs. In collaboration with our partner institutions, degrees are awarded to students, ensuring program quality assurance and adherence to academic standards.

In some cases, courses may be delivered by Open Christian University, while degrees are awarded by our collaborating institutions, which have degree-awarding power. Alternatively, students may take part of the program from Open Christian University and the remaining part from the collaborating institution. Depending on the requirements of our partnerships, some programs may have residential or in-person workshop attendance requirements.

It's important for students to thoroughly read the program specifications and explore the degree-awarding institution before applying, as information may vary per program. Our aim is to provide students with a comprehensive education that prepares them for effective ministry in secular environments while upholding Christian values and principles.
