Admissions

Admissions Process

The Open Christian University makes use of a rolling registration; i.e. students can enrol and complete their studies any time of the year.

If you have not already applied, first, review our admissions criteria and determine your eligibility. Once you have decided that you would like to enrol in an OCU program, you may start the application process by clicking the  SIGN UP button found at the top of any page on the university website.

Student enrollment happens in a few steps:

Admissions Requirements

To be admitted into any OCU program, applicants must meet a range of criteria.

To apply for admission, candidate must submit the following documents:

Applicants who are non-native English speakers, or did not complete their undergraduate degree in an institution where the primary language of instruction is English, are required to provide proof of English proficiency during their application process. Otherwise, an IELTS score 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in each component) is required; or an English Placement Test result with a 5.5 equivalence (provided no score in each individual component is less than 5.0). Should applicants be unable to provide proof of English proficiency, they will be required to take a Open Christian University Test before proceeding to degree  courses.

In addition, candidates may be required to sit for qualifying examination and / or attend oral interview sessions to determine eligibility.

Further Considerations: Candidates with alternative qualifications will be considered for admission into degree and diploma programmes on the basis of equivalences determined by the University.

Credit transfer

Open Christian University cannot guarantee the portability of all credits, as the decision to accept or reject lies in the hands of the receiving institutuion. However, students wishing to transfer credits to our partner universities can be supported to do so insofar as these credits come from accredited institutions and the transfer policy of our partner university is concerned. Please note that the courses transferred must be equivalent in content and requirements to courses in the relevant University's Curriculum. The credits must be reported on an official transcript.

The University reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate. False or misleading information given on this form or academic credentials will result in rejection of the application or consequence expulsion without full refund of fees. The Open Christian University reserves the right to modify its fees or admissions requirements and procedures, to add or withdraw members from its faculty or administration, and to arrange its courses, programmes, and facilities as teaching and economic requirements render it desirable.
