Admissions and enrollment

Open Christian University runs rolling admissions into different academic programs. Admission requirements vary depending on the level of study, study program and expected learning outcomes.

Undergraduate Programs

To be admitted to the first year of an undergraduate Programme, applicant must be aged at least 16 and have completed high school in a related discipline. Application must include:

[1] High School Certificate with 2 principal passes

[2] Copy of National Identity Card or passport

[3] Passport size photographs (Colored)

[4] Dully filled University application form

Master Programs

To meet admission requirements for Master Degree, applicants need to be 18 years old or older and be able to demonstrate a bachelor's degree completion in a relevant field of study. In addition, applicants need to have a minimum of one-year work experience and be proficient in English as a language of the institution. To apply for admission, candidate must submit the following documents:

  1. Undergraduate degree certificate and Transcripts;

  2. Updated Resume or CV;

  3. Proof of nationality (National ID card or passport);

  4. One reference letter (from an employer/lecturer etc.);

  5. Dully filled university application form

Doctoral Admissions

Applicants to doctoral programs must be at least 18 years old, have completed a Master program in relevant subject area from a recognized university or possess a UK equivalent level 7 professional development diploma with 2 years of management experience. Applicant must demonstrate ability of carrying out independent research project in English. To apply for admission, candidate must submit the following documents:

  1. Copy of relevant master’s degree certificate and transcripts

  2. Proof of nationality (National ID card or passport)

  3. Updated Resume or CV

  4. Two official Recommendation Letters (Academic or Professional)

  5. Dully filled university Application form

Applicants who are non-native English speakers, or did not complete their undergraduate degree in an institution where the primary language of instruction is English, are required to provide proof of English proficiency during their application process. Otherwise, an IELTS score 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in each component) is required; or an English Placement Test result with a 5.5 equivalence (provided no score in each individual component is less than 5.0). Should applicants be unable to provide proof of English proficiency, they will be required to take a Open Christian University Test before proceeding to degree courses.

In addition, candidates may be required to sit for qualifying examination and / or attend oral interview sessions to determine eligibility.

Further Considerations: Candidates with alternative qualifications will be considered for admission into degree and diploma programmes on the basis of equivalences determined by the University.

Credit transfer

Open Christian University cannot guarantee the portability of all credits, as it is not a full-fledged university. However, students wishing to transfer credits to our partner universities can be supported to do so insofar as these credits come from accredited institutions and the transfer policy of our partner university is concerned. Please note that the courses transferred must be equivalent in content and requirements to courses in the relevant University's Curriculum. The credits must be reported on an official transcript.

The University reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate. False or misleading information given on this form or academic credentials will result in rejection of the application or consequence expulsion without full refund of fees. The Open Christian University reserves the right to modify its fees or admissions requirements and procedures, to add or withdraw members from its faculty or administration, and to arrange its courses, programmes, and facilities as teaching and economic requirements render it desirable.
